At first glance these sectors appear extremely disparate, unrelated and disconnected.  The common thread running throughout is destination marketing.  Add to this cost-of-living crisis, immigration, population growth (or deficits depending on your outlook) etc; it’s easy to make the case each topic is inextricably linked where subtle nuances affect each jointly and severally – at macro and micro levels.

Wise Words Media is not a content creator or budding youtuber

Ultimate goal: content produced is distributed for OTT streaming platforms and FAST Channels. Content created, developed and distributed for global audiences, distribution via Over-The-Top video content streaming services (OTT platforms and/or online content marketplaces).

With 70% of youtube content viewed on mobile devices, it makes sense to look beyond youtube to more strategic commercial partners and audiences:

  • investigating new content distribution and licensing oppportunities
  • Wise Words Media and Callumny Films has attended AFM 2017, Marche du Cannes (2020) and Asia TV Forums (2020), so have been aware of Video Elephant, Vuulr and similar platforms for sometime
  • In 2017, a creative industries colleague told me an anecdote around the topic of French telecomms companies (similar to Telstra and Optus) were active in the market for content suitable for mobile devices
  • since Oct, 2020 original video content library x 150 videos – filmed in SD format (30fps rendered up to 60fps), however upgrading April, 2021 to Sony Zv-1 vlogging camera

Wise Words Media is not interested in paying for unproven services that do not demonstrate ROI by way of monetization.

Wise Words Media is approached almost weekly with agency pitches. There’s always great detail about how much to pay and how many subcribers to gain, but there is never any evidence of revenue generated and ROI on what is paid for the service. There’s no commercial reality around how Wise Words Media recoups costs and expenses incurred for such services.

Within many pitches there is no commercial evidence – no business name, no headquarters or commercial base, no business adddress, no website address, no Linkedin profile, no web-based folio of client testimonials. For all we know you could be a man working in his bedroom in his pyjama’s.  Wise Words Media prefers to work with business professionals.

Wise Words Media usually sees little to no evidence of this in many agency pitches. This makes it impossible for Wise Words Media to complete any commercial due diligence of its own to make sure you are who you are,  what you claim you can do and have done.

re: ‘Guys like Tobi and Richard…’ this means nothing to me. This assumes Wise Words Media know’s who these people are and what they do as if it is relevant directly to me. Wise Words Media does not have a clue who they are and they are not relevant to Wise Words Media.
