Last November, Football Australia seemed to be heading into positively (and positive) unchartered territory for a change: the launch of it’s long-awaited National Second Tier Competition. Organisers of the A-Leagues are scrambling to ensure this weekend’s fixtures are broadcast after the company that handles their television production went bust in yet another blow for the body behind Australia’s top football competition.

Global Advance, a start-up launched in 2021 aiming to “break the duopoly” of sporting production in Australia held by NEP and Gravity, has been responsible for bringing the A-Leagues to the screens of Network Ten and Paramount+ for the last two and half seasons.
